What is a Neighborhood Watch

A Neighborhood Crime Watch is a group of neighbors looking out for neighbors.  It is getting to know each other and becoming familiar with your neighbors' habits and vehicles so that you will know when something is suspicious or out of the ordinary.  Through this program, many crimes such as burglaries, assaults and drug dealings are prevented.  This added awareness to our area will ensure that criminal activities will be nipped in the bud.  By working together with the Dallas Police Department and other Local Governmental Agencies we will make our community a safer better place to live, increase property values, and make our neighborhood attractive to potential new families.

 

 

 

What's To Learn

 A Crime Watch:

  • Teaches citizens techniques to reduce the risk of being victimized at home and in public.
  • Trains citizens on the importance of recognizing suspicious activities and how to report them.
  • Teaches participants how to make their homes more secure and properly identify their property.
  • Allows neighbors to get to know each other and their routines so that any out of place activity can be reported and investigated.
  • Brings citizens together to address the needs and issues that concern the entire community.

         

 

Mission Statement

 

The 24-7 Wynnewood Heights Crime Watch is an old-fashioned idea of being good neighbors  who look out for each other’s property and recognizing illegal visual criminal activities. Working together to  make our  community  a safer  and  better place to live without fear and intimidation while being the eyes and ears of the Local Governments.
